Effective dispute resolution is often about the process and the people. As an arbitrator, I emphasize to the participants that the benefits of arbitration can only be realized by streamlining and compacting the process, to make it a true alternative to litigation. As a mediator, I emphasize to the participants that the exchange of information and the active participation of the necessary decision-makers are keys to a successful resolution of a dispute.
In 2004, I was invited to serve as an arbitrator on the Construction Industry Panel for the American Arbitration Association (“AAA”). Since that time, I have had the privilege of serving as arbitrator in over sixty cases through the AAA and as a private arbitrator, including international commercial arbitrations. I have also been qualified to serve as a public arbitrator for the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (“FINRA”).
I also serve as a mediator for construction and commercial disputes. In addition to my experience as an advocate in mediation for more than twenty-five years and as a private mediator in over seventy mediations, I have focused on developing the skills and tools required to be an effective mediator who can facilitate decision-making of the parties to overcome difficult problems and issues.
While I am based in Spokane, Washington, I provide third-party neutral services for parties throughout the United States.
ON-LINE MEDIATION AND ARBITRATION: I am available to provide mediation and arbitration services by video-conference or teleconference.
